ALLURE:
Rewriting Body Dysmorphia into Embodied Allure
What if I told you that the flaws you see in the mirror aren't even there? What if I said that your body isn't the problem, but the lens you see it through is?
Body dysmorphia isn't just seeing yourself in a bigger body.
It's the constant mirror checking.
Changing your outfit.
Freaking out when someone wants to take a picture with you.
It's the way your whole mood is dependent on how flat your stomach is that day.
What I really want you to understand and believe at you core is that your body was never the problem. Since the moment you were born, you were being shaped to see yourself a certain way.
From current optics like diet culture, sk1nnytok, and GLP-1 "glow ups," of course you think your body is too big. You've been comparing yourself to photoshopped bodies and manipulated metabolisms.
Another way your lens was shaped was through what I call Conditioned Womanhood, where you were taught that your worth is tied to your weight. Little you didn't body check on her own, she was trained.
The third way I see your lens getting distorted is through emotional dysregulation. You don't know how to handle your emotions so you try to control your body. It's easier to control and manipulate your body than your feelings.
What if you could go through the day without letting the mirror determine your mood? What if your body didn't take up all the space in your head? What if allure wasn't about being small, but embodied?
Allure isn't about being the hottest girl in the room or obsessing over your appearance. It's about walking into a full room and not looking for a thinner woman. It's taking pictures without looking for all the flaws the rest of the night.
I'm teaching you how to:
❤️🩹 interrupt body check spirals in the moment
❤️🩹 regulate your mind when your brain is screaming about how huge you look
❤️🩹 know what it feels like to not be preoccupied by your size 24/7.
